What are the differences between the sets?

We offer 5 different varieties of strings.

Original- Our original kevlar core nylon strings are a low tension string primarily used for Rockabilly slapping. High strength kevlar core with smooth nylon coating. Available in Standard, Light, Ultra-Light, Heavy and 5 String variations. 10 colors to choose from.

Roundwound- The Roundwound set has a solid nylon core hand wrapped with a round nylon coating. The nylon winding provides more tension than our standard set for more volume and sustain. They also offer a brighter tone and bouncier feel than our standard strings. The medium-low tension makes them great for slapping, while the extra sustain and brighter tone make them suitable for finger picking styles as well. Available in black or white.

Hybrid Set- This set combines a steel core E and A with a standard kevlar core G and D. The medium tension makes them a good all around string for any style. Black nylon coating.

Steel Core- This set has a multi-strand braided steel core with black nylon coating. This is the highest tension set we offer. The higher tension produces more volume and greater note articulation. This makes them a good choice for finger picking styles as well as slapping. They are compatible with magnetic pickups.

Premium- The Premium set is the closest thing you'll find to real gut. The look, sound, feel, tension and playability of gut have all been replicated, right down to the texture. This set combines a steel core E and A with a standard kevlar core G and D. The nylon is treated to achieve a slight roughness you would find on natural gut strings. The medium tension makes them a good all around string for any style. Natural gut color.

What is your return policy?

We're so sure you'll love our strings that we offer a no questions asked money back guarantee. Try our strings- If you don't like them for any reason simply return them for a full refund, even on used sets. No questions asked.

Will these strings fit my bass?

If you have a standard upright bass in any size our strings should fit with no modification. If your bass can fit gut strings ours will fit. They come long enough to fit a 4/4 and can be easily trimmed to fit smaller sizes. A small number of basses will have smaller holes in the tuners. In this case the strings can usually be trimmed to fit. If they don't fit you can send them back for a full refund.

Do they work with Electric Uprights?

There are a wide variety of electric uprights available with many different configurations. We've had many customers use them successfully on a variety of EUBs. The more similar yours is to a real upright the more likely our strings will work. As long as the holes in the bridge and tuners are big enough to accept the larger diameter of these strings you should be ok. If they don't work you can send them back for a full refund.
